Subject: throttle valve cable spring installation
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi, on the throttle assembly there is a spring that is about 1/4" in diameter that fits around the end of the throttle cable adjustment rod. It is held in place with a small E-Clip, right by the area that accepts a flat screwdriver to adjust the throttle cable at idle.

The spring is made of some pretty hard metal and I have not been able to get it back on the throttle rod. I've tried pliers, but it is quite hard for me to compress the spring with pliers with one hand and then slip the E-Clip on the end of the rod with the other.

I think that what I need is a mini-spring compressor. However, I have not been able to find one and I'm not sure if such a tool exists. The spring is so small compared to most spring compressor tools.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get the spring back on? If I require a special tool, where can I buy this?

Thanks.

Regards, Craig
