Could be recontamination. If you put a new plug wire on a plug that has corrosive residue, it comes back due to humidity alone. There is no way to clean the fittings to a degree that they won't come back. Replace both the plugs and wires, and put some dielectric grease inside to keep the metal contacts air and water free. No air, no oxidation. No water, no vehicle for ions.
