Hello All:

Well...my overheating mystery (mostly uphill) seems to have taken a new turn...or possibly this morning's event was unrelated.

The coolant temp had been climbing lately on any terrain...and very little heat. I pulled off the road this morning and smelled smoke...saw "rainbow" puddles in the rain-slick asphalt. Tranny was acting funny...noticed tranny fluid blowing onto the exhaust from somewhere underneath. I couldn't locate the exact leak...had it towed....will be a few days before the verdict.

Could combustion gasses getting into the coolant result in a trans or oil seal failure somehow? Please let me know your thoughts or similar experiences.
