Hmmmmm. I think is more or less pecking (kinda like a machinist's hammer) along with revolutions. Come to think of it... last Christmas they DID do some work in the Distributor area and, like I said, the car will drive albeit rather loudly.

Rod noises I have heard are usually pretty heavy thudding sounds, and more of a knocking as rpms increase. But I have not heard them in a wasserboxer. How fast is the noise compared to rpm? 1 peck per revolution? Maybe something in the distributor?
