       Brian, the cap being loose does not insure that the passage way 
leading to and from the little cap is not blocked.  You must remove the cap 
and pass a wire through the passage way to make sure it is not blocked.  
There are two breather caps on the differential.  One is for the diff the 
other for the transmission.  Make sure you got the right one and make sure 
both of them are clear.  The one for the tranny is to the side the one for 
the diff is in the centre.
