My choice has been to go up to a 215 or 225/70-14. The increased size provides the reqiured capacity. Make sure the repalcement tire is rated to be inflated to 44 psi as there are some that are still only rated at 32 or 35 psi. Dennis

Vanagon insanity gets deeper with this development. What the duck? I have called all over the universe and only found a few last stores of the 205s, everyone is encouraging me to go to 185s (which exist for the 14 rims) or to consider moving fd to a 15 inch rim where light truck tires abound. Right now I drive on the increadible unsafe mix of 2 bald 205s in the back, one cracked-and-wobbly-to-the-point-of-buffeting- at-25-50 mhp front passenger 205 and one NON reinforced standard car 205 tire. I've already blown out the other standard car tire, and hence my cracked and wobbly spare a-buffeting away. Look out I'm on the road! (It's a passive suicide attempt, apparently) Any leads on these tires? I've found a cashe of Firestones using a construction tire connection for $75 (I'm getting 4 and sparing the 2 rear tires incase this happens again). I have to drive to work 3 days/ week and I loathe doing it on this mix. What have other people been doing when this happens to them?
