You may want to make a modification which I believe was suggested by Phaedra (a CA redwood sprite who joined the List a few years ago, does winters in Mexico in her van and hasn't posted much lately) for a slider door net. We did so this summer and it works great. Short story is ... sewing a length of netting to the bottom of the slider door curtain and folding it up in the curtain when not in use.
Haven't camped down there in years, but I have used the private campgrounds on Big Pine Key several times and was always pleased. It's a bit of a trek to Key West but that is a double-edged sword.
