You need a new switch. I just went through this with my front blower.
Got my switch from Camelback VW in Phoenix, AZ.

To replace the switch, heat the plastic knobs on the control levers,
then carefully pull them off. If the plastic knobs are not really soft
you will v=break the little tangs that hold them on. I learned the hard
way. Once those are off, the panel over them that also holds the switch,
can be popped out to the dash. Easy from there.
