Hey guys.

Sorry to have launched this tangential thread... Malcolm Stebbins is right, it gets to be a real pain when peripheral blather clouds a discussion list, so please accept my apologies, and my encouragement of Malcolm's assertion NOT to let the Vanagon list become a fractionalized discussion of the outcome of tomorrow's election.

I will say this in closing this subject. Your vote counts, so VOTE tomorrow. Facts:

In 1645, one vote gave Oliver Cromwell control over England. In 1649, one vote caused King Charles I of England to be executed. In 1776, one vote gave America the English language instead of German. In 1845, one vote brought Texas into the Union. In 1868, one vote saved President Andrew Johnson from impeachment. In 1876, one vote gave Rutherford Hayes the Presidency of the United States. In 1923, one vote gave Adolph Hitler leadership of the NAZI Party. In 1941, one vote saved Selective Service... just weeks before the attack on Pearl Harbor. In 2000, one vote (a Supreme Court Justice) handed the Presidency of the US to a former crack smoking, recovering alcoholic with an estimated IQ of 92.

Okay, now simmer down... that last one was just a little rib poking for the minority who 'elected' our Commander in Chief; (if it makes you feel better, I *didn't* vote for Gore)... The point is, load your van up with neighbors and go vote your conscience. (and p-mail any flames...)

Some of you folks need to visit Romania. There isn't much in Romania. Most of the consumer goods in Romania come from Russia. Romania is big in Iron Ore and Foundaries. The Long Tractor is a known Romanian Product, the factory is Government Owned. I've never been to Romania but I have a friend that went every two years for ten years, he now imports the relatives that live in Romania for a month and doesn't go anymore. Its worth the added expense ............... to NOT GO.
