I think this is bad information you give.
You take a 18 or 19 year old pipe and put it back in where the same came
out?

 I go to junkyard I buy junk, not new.
and if I was doing job like this at the wheel area, where rust is I
think this stainless idea good one.

I think the two short pipes where they are will be no problem for
cooling thermals ,and this stainless will not be problem for aluminum to
work with.

Look in  dairy, where milk is stored and kept cold.
No thermal loss of temperature, and latic acid does not hurt it.

I will be doing this new thing with new stainless soon.

Having said that you can go stock in a cheap way if you can find a 84-
85 Vanagon in a junkyard with good pipes.
