German Transaxle experience:

I've had two of their trannys in my former 73' Westy. The 1st was a dud and didn't shift for beans straight out of the box. The second (replacement) shifted fine, but the cross bar broke in the first month and it was noisy beyond what I think was acceptable.

When I have another tranny done it will be by AA Transaxle in Duval Washington. Daryl comes highly recommended and guaranties his work above and beyond anyone else I have found.

Cheers, Brian
