Based on my experience rotors do not need to be turned unless they are warped or do not meet minimum thickness specifications. By turning the rotors you remove mass hence reducing the rotor's ability to absorb heat hence increasing its propensity to warping. So then you turn the rotors again and remove some more mass... blah blah blah.

I think you get the picture.

I would clean your existing rotors using a good brake cleaner and emery cloth to remove any old brake pad residue.
