Harmon,
I am in the middle of this right now, so I hope that I can help you.
I found ecs-Tuning (Euro Car Service in Norton, Ohio - www.ecstuning.com ,
http://www.ecstuning.com/wheeladapterkits.htm for the adaptors, or
http://www.euro-car-service.com/HR/ for the spacers). They have what seems
to be the complete H&R application listing for both spacers and adaptors.
I recently ordered a pair of adaptors so that I can mount some Porsche
wheels on my '87 GL. I had a few questions before I ordered, so I sent my
questions via e-mail. They responded quickly. The best part, their prices
are below the H&R suggested list price as shown on the ecs site. I ordered
by phone. Very friendly staff. Later that day I received a call from them
telling me that the particular spacer I ordered was on backorder, but I
should be available in 4 to 6 weeks (it has been about 5 weeks now). They
haven't charged my credit card yet. They said they would do that once they
are actually ready to ship.
I have done a LOT of looking for these spacers. This is the only place that
I have found that carries them. Although I don't have them yet, I am excited
that the service seems so good.
Although I will ultimately need 4 spacers I only ordered one pair. I did
this because I want to test fit the wheels and make sure they work for me
(I'm planning on using some big, wide wheels). If they don't, I don't want
to have some spacers that are of no use to me.
If you or anyone else is considering getting some of the H&R spacers or
adaptors, you might want to wait a couple of weeks if you can. By then I
should have the adaptors so I will know how good escTuning is at delivering
on their promises. If the spacers work for me I will order another pair. If
they don't work for my and they might work for you, I could sell them to you
at that point.
If anyone else is interested in any follow-up on my experiences here, please
send me an e-mail.
Finally, I have no financial interest in this business. I have never done
business with them before. Standard disclaimers.....
Bruce
