Adrian,

Unless you are willing to change the ratio of the final drives, stick with the stock wheels and get some C or D rated rubber for them. You will be happier and your properly geared van will be much more driveable.

George PS: I once replaced an automatic with a hand-shaker in a car. Being in a rush to get it on the road, I decided to leave the original rearend in place. Beforehand, I did some calculations and found that in top gear the auto rearend would drop the revs a couple of hundred RPM's, so I reasoned that this setup would be like a quasi-overdrive. It was. But, around town the car never saw fourth gear and I was smoking the new clutch every time I had to pull away on even the slightest grade. After about a week of this, I installed the correctly geared rearend ASAP.
