When shopping for a GPS, keep in mind something my Dad learned the hard way. Many of these units can't be repaired when something goes wrong. In his case, the unit was glued together and couldn't be opened non-destructively. He called Magellan when it failed after several years of use and they said they they would exchange it for a new unit for a little more than the discount stores want for a new one! He replaced it with a Garmin, since their out of warranty exchange program is actually worth using. I now own a Magellen with half the case cut away and the bad solder joint repaired. Bill |
