I just spent the last week driving from San Francisco back to Virginia (with that storm system chasing me all the way). Fortunately it stayed behind me all the way too.

On the other paw, I did get some of the wind when driving across the Rockies (let me correct that line...I had already CROSSED the Rockies and was driving parallel to the front range.) 20-30 mph head winds...or more accurately caddy corner cross winds (front and side) are a real drag. In every way. Killed my fuel mileage. Cut my top speed down to 65 (er, 110 kph) And also had me having to hold on tight to the steering wheel as any slippage caused the van to slide violently over to the left.
