Anything can be made to fit anything. However, I am sad to report that your contemplated wheels are not a bolt on proposition. Assuming that you are looking at STOCK wheels on the 66, they have a bolt pattern of 5 X 205 mm. That's a huge pattern as compared to your 84's 5 X 112 bolt pattern. Those have more in common with 67 and earlier bugs and Type 3's. If you want to source stock wheels from a VW, you need to go to 71 and up busses or Westies.
