on a bug the nut actually stripped and i ripped the spline grooves right out of the brake drum. didnt harm the axle at all though. bug didnt move at all when that happened. had it towed to a shop because i thought i had fried the tranny. shop showed me what was wrong and said loose nuts stripping the drum they had seen but mine was the first stripped nut they had seen. jimt On Tuesday, Nov 12, 2002, at 15:02 America/Denver, David Beierl wrote:
