Hi,
  You didn't say if your trans is an automatic, but if so you may have
the same problem that I have had.
   Twice when my throttle has started to stick open I have found that
the linkage in the AT area has been binding due to corrosion.  If I
recall correctly, it was where the rod going back to the throttle
attaches to the top of the lever on the AT.
