Thanks to everybody that responded. I ended up going with kit from Thule (way too expensive though) using artificial gutters so I can still pop the top. I thought about clearance and figured that since I'll mostly be using it for skis, that I'm upping the clearance no matter what. Got the sliding ski rack too so I don't have to climb on top. Seems like my best bet. I'm gonna nab my friends big Thule storage box too and with that, my camper'd be set to live out of for a long time. (I know it is anyway, but I'm thinking with my girlfriend and dog.)
