Subject: o ring question

Hi folks

Do any of you specialty technical types know how much an o ring is supposed to compress. Is there a percent of thickness or ratio of thickness for how deep and wide the groove is vs. the o ring?

Also, any reason I couldn't use o rings for a banjo type fitting?

Thanks for any help

Myron Lind Harrisonburg, VA
