My van ('81 Westy) would definitely vapor lock an a hot day if I drove it until completely warmed up and then shut it off for 15 or 20 minutes. When I would come back, it would start and run for a mile or so, then quit. I rerouted the gas line to get it further from the right front of the engine where it comes throught the firewall, and the problem went away. It never pushed any gas out anywhere, though.
