Greetings everyone, Just a short trip report in case anyone was wondering what happened to us. My wife and I took a honeymoon trip to San Francisco and left the list so that my inbox did not fill up while gone. If anyone is interested in our honeymoon photos here they are. http://members.cox.net/developtrust/honeymoon.html The bad news is that we discovered that she gets car sick. The trip was almost ruined. We decided to sell the vanagon. The good news is that over the past few months my wife has now fallen in love with the van. She loves to sit up high above the traffic, likes to see the road ahead, and loves to take a nap on the bed in back when we travel. I am literally getting pressure from my wife to not sell the van. She now prefers to drive in the van and does not like the Mercedes at all. I still might sell the van if I get a decent price from someone willing to pay for all the improvements. I turned down a cash offer of $19,000 before we left. I have pending offers close to that now. My plan is to find a syncro or buy a real beaten up van to take on trips so that midnight thieves do not think we are wealthy enough to cause us grief. I figure a van that looks like a piece of junk but is mechanically sound is a good theft deterrent disguise. I figure that what I have learned on this list can help me restore a junker. Restoring and improving these vanagons is very addicting. I just hope I do not end up with several in my driveway. I have a feeling that if I sell our vanagon I will be in deep trouble with my wife.
