Hey folks, My front tires are cupping pretty heavily, most of the wear is on the outside edge of the tread. The driver's side tire isn't too bad, just rounded on the outside edge. The passenger side is wearing heavily on the outside edge. I've had the alignment done recently, and many times in the past. Still, the tires wear in the same way. The upper ball joints were replaced on both sides a few years ago. All other parts are original. The guy at the shop said he couldn't adjust the caster, because he couldn't get the nuts loosened. The rear tires are wearing very evenly and much more slowly. I keep the pressures pretty high, like 45/50 psi. Tires are 185R14, reinforced sidewall, load range D, max load 1875lb, 8 ply radial. So, the question: anyone have any idea what is causing this? I guess I should add that my shocks are original (18 yrs - 268,000 mi), if that makes a difference. Any info or similar experiences will be greatly appreciated. Bill Marshall 85 GL Tiico "Pandora's Box" Bradenton FL |
