Malcolm Sorry most of you have heard this before but for the newbies: An important distinction needs to made here. All of the heaters i listed are vented heaters. They are safe for indoor operation. The heater that Malolm got for $50 at Canadian tire is not vented. This means that it uses up the oxygen in the van for combustion and release byproducts (CO2 and water mainly) into the air in your van. This is ok if you leave a window open and stay awake. It will say right on the package that the heater should not be used while sleeping. Many people have killed themselves while using this type of heater in a van or RV while sleeping (some people may want to die peacefully in thier vanagons). Of course some claim that they sleep with these heaters on all the time and it is not a problem. The choice is yours. Andrew Fox 86 Westy |
