Sorry, I don't agree. I run my van in 95-100F afternoon heat with the A/C on full blast in stop and go traffic and the cooling system has no problem keeping up with the heat of the engine. Sure, the radiator fan cycles and changes speeds, but that's what its supposed to do. My coolant gauge never goes more than one needles width above the LED.

If you're overheating, there is a problem with your cooling system, not in the design of the system.

Having the insulation on the heater hose shouldn't have any impact in the summer anyway, because the heater valve would most likely be closed and there wouldn't be any coolant flow through the heater hoses.
