I have to disagree here -- that monster radiator is plenty big enough for a much larger engine than they actually put in the V'gon, at least in normal climates. Maybe at some ridiculous smoking-desert ambient it might run out of extra.

If the cooling system is marginal, it's because it's broken, not underdesigned.

In any case, when the heaters are shut off there's no flow in that line, hence no heat loss to speak of.
