Let me see if I remember the wear patterns correctly...

If the tire wears in the middle of the tread (instead of the outside edges) the tire is over inflated.

If the tire wears on both outside edges more than then the middle, the tire is under inflated.

If the tire wears on the outside edge more than the inside edge, it may be toed-in too much. / \

If the tire wears on the inside edge more than the outside edge, it may be toed-in too little (i.e. toed-out.) \ /

If the tread has unusual cupping the caster (alignment of the suspension towards the length of the vehicle) or camber (alignment of the suspension towards the width of the vehicle) may be out of spec.
