Bob,

You can just bolt in the square blocks and bolt them onto your van. The Weekender bench bolts on to that. The seatback catch is another story. The factory welded a square tube to move the catch post closer. The bolt hole for the catch is also relocated between where the two holes normally are in a regular bus. You can either fabricate a new extension, make the bolt/catch longer, or pirate the piece from the donor van.

This is what I did. I cut the old piece from the donor along with the backing plate. Instead of welding the piece in, I simply kept it welded to the original plate from the donor van. I then cleaned up that piece so it can be bolted to the existing plate in my van. No welding necessary and no further fabrication. I figured this would be stronger and therefore safer than anything I could cobble up.

BTW, this is all assuming you are referring to Carat or Multivan rear bench. The early Westy Wolfsburg Edition (the one with the poptop) is a totally different.
