Subject: auto Tranny rebuild
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

I called around looking for info on my tranny. A man with a small shop (A VW shop) shot me a price of $500 to pull, rebuild & reinstall my tranny. Sounds too good to be true, but replacing it with a used tranny I could have the same problem in a week. This van is a P O S I'M not putting a lot of money in it. If I didn't like it so much I'd take it out back and shout it. In the Bentley manual/bible on page 38.12 Fig 15 2nd band adjusting screw. If you don't have much too loose, can you go against the bible and try to adjust without pulling the tranny. My hopes are to find a van with a bad motor & transplant; I'm just trying to buy time.
