There are differences.

- If you live in town, the water in your hot water heater has chlorine in it. - Your water heater is not as open to contamination as a Westy water tank. - You won't find many people who recommend you drink the water from your hot water heater. In fact, you'll find a lot of suggestions to the contrary.
