I just replaced my starter and alternator with genuine Bo$ch rebuilds.  I
don't know yet if they will last any longer than the FLAPS parts, but having
the starter engage instantaneously was certainly impressive!  The alternator
I had in for the last year was a FLAPS "World Class Remanufactured."  It
still performed OK, but it seemed to make a lot of bearing noise, and I
thought it would be worth replacing.  I'm not looking forward to my credit
card bill!
