well i used the info at http://www.knology.net/~vw/vanagon/sag/ and it worked great! only took a few hours, i only had to use two pieces of cutting board on each side. now everything is all level!!!!! only a few things i would add to putting things back together: couldn't get the shock to reach the point of bolting in since the spacers were added. fix: attach the outer swingarm first (after installing the new spacers and spring) then i put a block of 4x4's under the swingarm. and slowly lowered the jack letting the swingarm rest onto the 4x4's (stacked 2 high). the weight of the van was enough to lift the swingarm high enough so the the shock would reach the lower mount. was much easier than trying to muscle the swingarm up to reach the shock (wouldn't have worked anyway) andy 85 level westy |
