It sounds like your rear brakes need to be adjusted. I
use the emergency brake clicker as my guide as to
when to adjust the rear brakes. Once I can pull the
lever more than 3 clicks, I know its adjustment time.
After adjustment, If can pull the brake lever up only
one click and the van will not move, I know I have
adjusted them correctly.
I also check to see the rear wheels spin freely with
the brake off also. I do this by getting the van to
roll out of the garage without any help. My garage
floor has less than an inch of slope from front to
back so if there is anything holding up any of the
wheels, the van won't move. I actually roll my van out
of the garage every morning so I don't have to start
it in the garage. It also comes in handy when I have
left my headend unit on all weekend and need to bump
start the van.:>)
I have never had to adjust the e-brake cables on any
of my Type 2's adjusting the rear brakes has always
been sufficient.
Good luck,
Tim
