David sez: "One Ford Aerostar I drove had an emergency brake that would only grab well in the forward direction, so you had to be careful when parked facing uphill." I've noticed that with my '85, if I fail to release the hand brake, I can back out of the driveway OK, but when I try to go forward I really feel the brakes dragging. Before I put new drums and shoes on the back, and adjusted them properly, the hand brake was quite ineffective. That's why I drove 35 miles on a highway with them applied. Oops. That's why I decided it was time for new stuff. Bill Marshall 85 GL Tiico "Pandora's Box" Bradenton FL |
