Hi Listees, I still haven't been able to get my westy started. I was wondering if I was having trouble because the engine I put in is from an 80. I heard that pre 81 starters had a longer imput shaft, is this true? I left the 82 starter in and did not use the starter that came with the engine. If so, is there a trick to getting at the top bolt to the starter without removing the engine? It cranks but wont turn over when I try to start it. Any suggestions greatly appriciated! -Loretta 87 Syncro GL 86 Syncro GL 90 GL 82 Westy L |
