--- snipped --- Hansen most certainly does. Euro is not THE currency... it is an ALTERNATIVE currency. The German dealers I have dealt with prefer Dm. --- end snipped ---

Hi,

I don't know when the last time was that you made a deal in the European Community (of which Germany is a member) but they did have a "changeover period" for the first few months of 2002 where one could pay using either the new EURO currency, or the older Deutsch Marks. Now, however, that is no longer an option. If you have old currencies, like DM or Austrian Schillings, the only place that they will have any value, is at that particular countries National Bank... and even there you may not get much respect.

What you are probably seeing here, is somebody who contracted out to have their website done, and does not want to pay anyone to upgrade the prices to EURO... he probably will eventually.

People can still get the conversion rates for the old European currencies (as they were fixed in late 2001) at sites like www.XE.com which has a great currency converter... but even though you may be converting a price from DM into either Dollars, or EURO... you will still have to pay in a currency which exists!

I hope this clears things up a bit.

RSF

PS... Alsoo the EURO is not an EURO DOLLAR... just EURO. and another side note, because I find it to be really silly... they say that the currency of EURO has no plural!! For example you cannot say "give me 10 EUROS". You would say "gimme 10 EURO"!! Crazy!

IMPORTANT!!! In order to reply to me, you must have the word "FISH" somewhere in the subject line of the email. Otherwise it goes directly in the trash.
