My 82 aircooled has a rubber elbow that fits between the squirrel cage alternator fan input, and a metal connection on the backside of the van engine bay, just to the right of the license plate door. Cant remember where this metal connection input gets its air supply from; outside the van in the back I quess, I can check when I get home. All of my plasitc fittings are in good shape. Its all plastic from the squirrel cage houseing down to where the 2 air supply feeds leave the tin work; they connect to 2 metal tubes there that go to the heat exchangers.
