Could be the coolant temperature sensor(s). These bad boys are responsible for cold start enrichment, ignition timing and idle stabilization during warmup. Cheers, -Jeff '83 Westy '84 Vanagon '85 Vanagon '87 GL '88 Wolfsburg

After much work (and good info from the list), I finally got my '87 in good working condition. But of course it couldn't last. On a cold morning, it will crank fairly easily on the first try. But a couple of times now I have stalled it pulling out of the driveway. After it stalls it will take a couple of minutes cranking before it will start again. Any ideas (other than not stalling it)? Thanks, Darren |
