Subject: 85 Westy - needs mech help
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I have had coolant leak in one or both heads for past 9 months... She blows white smoke bad and temp gauge pegs within moments... Have kept Westy on life support by keeping the battery charged, starting her and driving her around the block once a month.. I am in need of advice on rebuilding vs rebuilt engine (engine excess 150K miles)... Also, I am located in Memphis TN and am looking for recommendation of good, knowledgeable, reliable shop to do the work... If it means towing her 500 miles, I may just do that... I am open to all opinions... FWIW, an air cooled owner stopped by one day and recommended his mechanic, but when I called them and it was a wbxr, they had no interest in working on it... Thanks for any input...

Al Gearhart Bartlett, TN
