You probably have a bad hose(s) in your fuel tank venting system.  It's
pretty common on Vanagons.  The only way to fix it correctly is to drop the
tank and replace the fuel tank vent lines and seals.

Every time I fill up the gas tank,I smell gas. I don't see any leaks,but
then again I don't really check but under the van.


Any suggestions?
