That's as far as it's supposed to open. When closed you should not be able to look through it. Yours looks fine.

Hello, I have an 81 westy & I,m rebuilding the engine. While I was checking the pieces I noticed that the Aux Air Regulator when very cold is bearly open. What I have read is that when cold it should be open & close when warm. My qusetions are: 1. when cold how big of an opening should there be? 2. when warm does it close all the way so no air passesor does a little air pass through? 3. is the voltage to it 12 volts to the heating element? Here is a pic that shows how open the valve is. I just brought it in from the garage where it was 25. http://webpages.charter.net/mikecoke/ P1010039.jpg I placed the Aux Air Regulator over the floor register for my furnace & the valve closed enough so I could not see through it but when I blew in it same air still gets through. Do I need to replace it or is it OK?? Mike
