Subject: Thankgiving Camping Trip
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi all,

Just got back from my thanksgiving trip. Went home to see the folks. Decided to camp in their driveway as some of the systems haven't been tested yet. I was able to get all the camping systems tested and found that they all work nicely. Some things need some tweaking, but works none the less. I also found out how well the bus is insulated and how good it does in winter camping. It was pretty cold here in Texas the past couple of nights and at 25 degrees we were as snug as a bug in a rug. We were using a small 1500watt ceramic heater from Wal-Mart and it would have been warm even down to the upper teens from what I could tell. However, we also used my ski jacket as an extra layer of insulation on the sliding door. Coming home the bus ran very well. If this holds out I may fall in love again. However, the fuel consumption dropped considerably. I had been getting 18-20mpg before the oil cooler seals, spark plugs and AFM tweaks. that I did several days ago. Now she is getting 13mpg. All I did was raise the idle less than 1/4 of a turn. I was not using the heater booster at all, and I didn't notice and fuel puddles after filling up. Anybody got any thoughts on why it would be running so well, yet burning twice as much gas as when it was running really sluggish?
