John, The condition of the automatic tranny is actually an unknown. It's in a Carat I'm buying as parts, and I was told that it "may be bad." I'm trying to plan for the cheapest possible way to put the best of my 83 Westy into the great body of the Carat, and make it go down the road... I appreciate the advice, and will surely check out the tranny before jumping into any rebuilds or weird swaps. Sean
