I've got a pair of 6" Cibies in the grille on my daily Golf, in addition to a set of Hella fogs mounted on the bumper. While the Cibies are really bright, if you aim low, and/or cross the beams, and/or use a pencil beam on the driver's side, there's no appreciable flare into oncoming traffic, or rear view mirrors. Good lighting makes night driving *so* much safer, less stressful, and less tiring. I have both pairs of aux lights on separate poles of a single switch on the dash, and can turn them all on and off with one tromp on a foot switch. It's the way of the future! Ken Beard at Susquehanna Motorsports sells everything one could ever want/need, including wiring harnesses, and helpful installation instructions. Highly recommend: http://catalog.com/susq. He's also got some great odometer / rally computers for folks who like to know *exactly* where they are, or are out in the sticks with just a map, their odo, and a wrong turn between them and say...
