Towing is something that you want to do right. Roadmaster makes a full line of tow bars and the brackets to fit a Vanagon. The bracket part # is 1208-1. You will also need a tow bar and safety chains. The brackets install easily (~1.5 hours). They also have all types of wiring adapters for the lighting including an adapter to go from three wire American towing vehicle to the 4 wires needed for the Vanagons separate brake lights. I sue their set up tp pull my Syncro behind my motor home. You should also consider brake activation for the Vanagon wheel being towed. Many states require it. Of course another option is towing insurance. Dennis
