Subject: windshield wiper arm
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Howdy Volks,

Well, my beautiful 1987 Westy has become the victim of vandalism. Sadly, some bored fool decided to bend my drivers side windshield wiper arm into a shape that closely resembles frosty the snow man.

I was able to replace it with a used arm, which is only in decent shape. I'd like to replace it with a new arm, and wanted to know ... how useful are 1988 + wiper arms that have that black metal air flow arm on them? Does that little black wind spoiler on the wiper arm really help? Since I am going to be replacing my wiper arm, I figured I'd see if it's really useful. I don't think I've ever had a problem with my original 1987 arm - and have wondered home much that black flare helps (or not) ?. I've not priced standard vs. flared arms yet either.

Just curious if anyone one can comment on one style vs. the other.

Thanks in advance, Neil
