I've gotten them loose by taking a 1X2 piece of wood, putting it against the little tab on the cylinder that you can pry against, and hitting the wood, causing the cylinder to turn either clockwise or counter clockwise. As soon as it breaks loose and turns, it's pretty easy to pry out. Trying to pry if it's stuck is a lesson in futility, but spinning it to break it loose makes it go pretty easily.
