Hi all,

Below I've got some questions for you conversion experts - I'm having some problems...

I got back to my diesel - gas conversion('86 Golf with CIS) yesterday, finished up some wiring, and thought it was all done. But no...

First problem: When I went to check the fuel distributor (CIS system) by pulling an injector and cranking the system, I get no fuel. Pump is working fine, hoses are good, etc... I can pull the air box off the fuel distributor and operate the air plate by hand and the injectors spray. I'm thinking that the hose I'm running from the intake to the fuel distributor is a little leaky so its not developing enough of a vacuum to raise the air plate at all - is that possible?

Second problem: I'm not getting any spark from the primary coil. I have 12 V. (when key in 'on' position) to the + terminal, and the - negative terminal is connected to the ignition control unit, which is connected to ground and the Hall sensor on the distributor. I'm not really sure what else to check or how to go about trouble shooting it.

Finally, does any one have any advice about how to wire up the cold start and thermo- time switch? Currently, I have them connected to 12 V on start and to ground. I'm not sure if this is right, but the wiring diagram in my Bentley is a little hard to figure out...

Any help would be great. I'm so close to having this thing running...

Matt
