Wait a minute. You might not want to do that. The thermoswitch is on the Positive side of the fan motor. You don't want to accidently ground wire #3. (Red with White), and grounding either of the others would just be grounding both sides of the motor, wouldn't do much.

One way to test the fan would be to take the connector off of the thermoswitch and jumper the leads to each other to simulate the closing of the switch positions. Red/white to red/black for low speed. Red white to both red/black and red/blue for high speed. If the fan never comes on at all, it's not just the relay. Low speed can operate without the relay. That 30 amp fuse might be the best thing to check second. Page 97.116 of the bentley being first.
